WE ARE
At Stonz, we care about children, and that passion easily carries into our love for our planet. This includes reducing our carbon footprint, keeping products out of landfills and creating products in the most ethical and non-toxic way possible. Our vision is to connect kids to the outdoors daily, regardless of the weather. This statement, although simple, requires many moving parts and choices that we make as a company. We’re the first to admit that we’re not perfect, but we strive to make all our decisions as responsibly as we can:
Reducing our Carbon Footprint
By having one production run per season, per factory, we reduce pollution from transportation of goods. This allows Stonz to move goods at once, reducing our carbon footprint in resulting fuel pollution.
Keeping Products Out of Landfills
More than 16 million tons of used textile waste is generated each year in the US, and the amount has doubled over the last 20 years.
- Stonz makes long-lasting products which extend the life of garments and shoes, keeping them out of landfills. This practice ensure pieces are made well enough to be handed down, used through many children, and not thrown away
- Stonz is making garments with built-in extenders allowing the product to be used as the child grows, not requiring a new piece to be purchased
- Consignment sales and second-hand stores are growing at almost 50% year on year. Stonz creates product that lasts long enough to be re-sold to new owners, allowing for those parents on a budget to afford a high quality, long-lasting item
How our products are made
All products are vegan-friendly and free of flame retardants, formaldehyde, lead and phthalates
Although, we’ve come a long way, we are not done yet. We want to keep on maximizing our social impact while finding new ways to reduce our environmental footprint. Our purpose is to inspire the raising of healthy, independent, resilient, earth-protecting kids. We believe that through our products and work ethic, we can help the next generation nurture and cherish our world, just as we have.
